When two people from different countries decide to share life. They bring their families together. And the families of their families. Connecting the world with love. The most beautiful aspect of globalization in my perception.
Tomorrow. The whole thing is coming up.
This? A dreamy introduction. The civil ceremony before the big day. In a bright place, outside, with the closest friends at one of the most beautiful registry offices I have seen. But wait and see what is yet to come.
Can´t wait for tomorrow.
Sometimes, like now for instance, I sit in front of my computer wondering how to describe this wedding in words, introducing the following blogpost. And I fail, every. single. time. How could I possibly write down how much I appreciate these people? How much joy it is to see them unconditionally happy. Why can´t we all be like this all the time – fully alive, simply enjoying every single moment. When I take the photographs of their beautiful day, I feel connected in a very special way. They cry and laugh, kiss and hug, right front of my eyes. And thanks to my camera, that magical machine, I´m allowed to be part of it.
I will never be able to explain why I cannot imagine a better job, than making memories for others.
I see so much love and pure happiness in these people´s faces.
And than, somewhere between changing camera settings and lenses, I think to myself
Vroni and Roland said yes on a sunny day under the sky at Schloss Pertenstein – a castle straight out of a fairy tale, near Chiemsee. Over 40 children alone attended this wedding, little angels were just everywhere.
A high school in Portland, 5th grade.
At that time, he knew her as the „German girl“…
Who would have thought that 18 years later Katja and Kevin would be standing in a castle, in Germany, getting married, surrounded by their friends from the US and all over the world. „It blows my mind…“ – he said before raising their glasses, to the next 20, 50 and 70 years together.
